robert moog dies at 71 :

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — August 21, 2005 — Bob died this afternoon at his home in Asheville, N.C. He was 71. Bob was diagnosed with brain cancer (glioblastoma multiforme or GBM) in late April 2005. He had received both radiation treatment and chemotherapy to help combat the disease. He is survived by his wife, Ileana, his five children, Laura Moog Lanier, Matthew Moog, Michelle Moog-Koussa, Renee Moog, and Miranda Richmond; and the mother of his children, Shirleigh Moog.

REVIEW: KRAI at e+@13 :

Thursday March 3rd, the monthly electronic music event at the 13th Floor in Baltimore was once again invaded by a fellow pod. KRai played the opening slot, stirring up an extravagant collection of digitally distorted Tracker permutilations.

Just in case anyone forgot:

there's nothing quite so engaging as lo-fi computer hardware churning out digitally processed floor stomping noise being perpretrated by a giddy madman hopping around under trippy lighting.

And it was delivered in good quantities last night. The KRaister performed about an hour long set mixed of new and old material.

Looking forward to the next release.

So, i almost won the mid-atlantic laptop battle! almost! got to the end, lost by one lousy point! oi. but hey, awesome time. Huge Thanks to the ppl who came out to cheer! (you know who you are). DC9 was filled to capacity, the audience was lovin it, film-makers were filming, NPR was there and ya know what? they all got to witness the true power of a Pentium 166. bwahahaha! big props go out to all involved with the event. the pics/vid and audio should be coming soon. ;)

ever wonder what those geeky, computer music types are doing, staring bleary eyed at rows and rows of numbers at around four o'clock in the morning, ticking off prospective hours of sleep before work the next day. i recently hosted a renoise class. this is an extremely useful and evolving resource for individuals who would like to learn how to use Renoise.
